What do I have to do to begin working on my photo book?

Simply download the albumfactory Designer from the Internet and you are ready to go. Click here to start the download. The download is of course free and non-binding.

How should my computer be configured and which software do I need?

If you want to work with no unnecessary delays, your computer should have a processor with at least 1GHz clock rate and 256 MB main memory. A quick Internet connection (DSL) is advantageous when ordering. The albumfactory Designer runs on operating systems Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Screen resolution should be adjusted to the standard 96 dpi for the most advantageous use of all the features.

Which key features does the albumfactory Designer have?

For one thing, the software enables you to personally lay out your photo book. For another, you can transmit the print data of your completed photo book to the albumfactory, place the order and specify the preferred method of payment. You can find out here how this works by and large.

Does the albumfactory Designer support all photo book sizes and numbers of pages?

Yes, first of all it asks you which type of photo book you want to produce and establishes the minimum amount of pages. During the layout procedure you can increase the number of pages in pairs, again and again, as your layout requires.

Where are my photo book pictures located, and in which file type must they be available?

Somewhere on your computer hard disk or network server. The albumfactory Designer accepts all current types of picture files, such as - among others - the “jpg” format that your camera probably uses.

How do I insert text within my photo book?

Quite easily: All kinds of text are arranged in description fields, whose position and size you choose. Any font installed on your computer can be used. Furthermore, you may freely select the style, size, direction and the colour of the font. Your computer screen resolution must be adjusted for this to the standard resolution of 96 dpi.

Do I have a free hand in page design or do I have to adhere to guidelines?

You are completely free to design your album pages, positioning your pictures and text fields wherever you want and in the desired size. The albumfactory Designer, however, provides you with a large variety of proven layouts; you can adopt these unaltered or modify them to your wishes accordingly.

What other design features will also be at my disposal?

The design features of the albumfactory Designer are exceedingly comprehensive and let no unfulfilled wishes out. In addition to the photo editor standard features such as automatic lighting, brightness correction, contrast and colour intensity, there are also special functions such as red-eye correction, watercolour effect, conversion to line drawing etc.. You can add rounded corners or coloured shadows to picture frames, superimpose pictures and text with a transparent effect and use many more additional features.

What assistance do I receive when designing my photo book?

The albumfactory Designer is conceived to be more or less self-explanatory. However, should questions arise whilst using it, there is a help feature at your disposal with an extensive description of all features and many practical pointers. You can also download and print out the complete user manual.

How do I order my photo book?

After you have finished designing your album, start the order procedure for one or more copies directly from the albumfactory Designer.

How will my order be transferred?

Your order, together with the print data of your photo book, will be transferred over the Internet to albumfactory.

Which methods of payment are available?

You pay by using your credit card entering the card number and holder. Our Payment Provider WorldPay does not accept debit cards.

How long will it take to deliver my photo book and how is the shipment made?

The production of your photo book will be started as quickly as possible as soon as the order and print data are correctly transferred and required payment has been received or if your imminent payment is confirmed. On average, the securely packed photo book will be transferred to the parcel service eight working days thereafter. They then deliver without delay.

Depending on work load and due to optimized production sequences it might, in some cases, take longer. If you definitely have to receive the photo book by a specific date (e.g. as a birthday present) please plan 2-3 weeks between placing and receiving your order. Usually we are quicker; however this provisional measure will possibly save you the disappointment of receiving the photo book too late.

How will I be informed about further progress after ordering?

Directly after receiving your order and your print data, an acknowledgement of receipt will be returned by e-mail. An additional e-mail will inform you of confirmation of payment. You will be informed by a third e-mail when the goods have been transferred to dispatch.

Can I order additional copies of my photo book?

Yes, at any time. You just simply have to access the albumfactory Designer and the details of the books you want, and follow the order procedure as usual.
